A Gift as Individual as Dad on Father's Day!
President Calvin Coolidge recommended Father's Day as a national holiday in 1924. The holiday was not officially recognized Until 1972, during the presidency of Richard Nixon. President Calvin Coolidge too supported the idea of a national Father's Day in 1924 to, "establish more intimate relations between fathers and their children and to impress upon fathers the full measure of their obligations". After a protracted struggle of over four decades, President Lyndon Johnson signed a Presidential proclamation declaring the third Sunday of June as Father's Day in 1966.
Father's Day is basically about making Dad feel great for a whole Sunday before he goes back to work on Monday and with Father’s day around the corner. Father’s Day is a great opportunity for children to pass on a gift as Individual as Dad, the things that they really like to give him interesting items, as long as you're sure that your dad won't hate it. Of course, some people will complain that their Fathers don't really need any more material goods.
Think about all the gifts you've given your Dad over the year’s ties, t-shirts, baseball hats, coffee mugs, books, and golf accessories. Gourmet gift baskets must come as a real surprise to someone who loves to eat. Anyone who passionately loves food is somewhat of a fascist when it comes to eating the best that is available. He absolutely loved it! After that he expected to get a "care package" every year for Father’s Day.
Every man has food and beverage favorites. Some men even like to cook. The traditional food gift basket may seem like an obvious choice, but you don't need to fill this basket with the usual lineup - sausage, cheese, jams and fruit. Maybe your man loves nothing better than a good cup of Joe and oatmeal cookies or maybe wine. Give him what he likes!
If he's the scholarly type who's always reading, there is what might be called book accessories. Try starting with an assortment of bookmarks and bookplates. If you've never shopped this market, you'll be amazed at the beautiful products that are available. A magazine-style basket might be a good choice in this man's gift basket. Tuck a bag of gourmet coffee or a bottle of his favorite liqueur inside and you're set!
You can see that gift baskets for men can be customized to suit your Dad's tastes. Look online for
ready-made gift baskets for men. You're sure to find something that's just perfect!
When you take the extra time to select the perfect gift, it clearly demonstrates to Dad that you put time, effort and energy into your selection. It shows him that you really thought about him, which is ultimately the true essence of gift giving.
To all the Dads "Happy Father's Day".
